Terms of Service
These Terms (“Terms”) govern your use of SoliloQ (“the app”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Who can use SoliloQ
You must be at least 17 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country, whichever is higher) to use the app. The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your account
- You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your device and authentication method secure.
- You agree that we may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms.
- You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and removes your posts, messages you authored, resonances, and settings.
3. The product: anonymous, text-only, one-way
- Anonymous: posts, messages, and resonances are never linked to a public username. Other users cannot see who authored a post or sent a message.
- Text only: no image, audio, or video uploads. Posts are limited to 750 characters; messages to 500 characters.
- One-way messaging: authors receive anonymous messages on their public posts; authors cannot reply to senders within the app.
- Dark mode by default during v1. Newest-first is the default sort; a “Resonating” sort is available as an opt-in toggle that does not persist across app restarts.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use SoliloQ to post, send, or encourage:
- Harassment, threats, doxxing, or targeted abuse of any person or group.
- Content that sexualizes minors, promotes self-harm, or incites real-world violence.
- Illegal content under the laws of your jurisdiction or ours.
- Spam, mass-posting, or commercial solicitation.
- Attempts to deanonymize other users, bypass the content filter, or probe the service for vulnerabilities beyond good-faith security research.
- Content that infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.
We use an automated content filter plus human review of reports. Content that violates these rules may be hidden, removed, or result in account action.
5. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit your content solely to operate the app (e.g., showing your post in the feed, delivering your message to a recipient).
- You warrant that you have the right to post what you post and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.
- You can delete your own content from the app at any time. Once you delete it, our 30-day soft-delete window applies before backups are fully rotated out.
6. Anonymity cannot be reversed
Once a message is sent, the sender’s identity is not exposed to the author — and we do not expose it either, including on deletion or report. Please think before you send something you can’t take back.
7. Moderation and reports
- Any user can report a post or message from inside the app.
- Our automated filter also silently drops messages that match our safety policies. The sender sees a “sent” confirmation in both cases.
- We may, at our discretion and in good faith, remove content or suspend accounts. We do not owe advance notice for conduct that clearly violates Section 4.
8. Availability and changes
- The app is provided “as is” and on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service.
- We may change, add, or remove features over time. If a change materially reduces the value of the app for you, we will announce it in-app before the change takes effect.
- We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will show a one-time in-app notice and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- SoliloQ is provided without warranty of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
- We are not responsible for content other users post. Views expressed by users are their own.
- You use the app at your own risk.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (in practice, zero for v1) or (b) USD 50.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Termination
- You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, create risk for us or other users, or if we’re required to by law.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including Sections 5, 9, 10, and 12).
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where local law gives you a non-waivable right to sue elsewhere.
