Common questions
How anonymous is “anonymous”?
Posts and messages are never linked to a public username, display name, or avatar. Other users cannot see who authored a post or sent you a message. Behind the scenes we store an opaque sign-in identifier (returned by Apple or Google) so the app can recognize you on the next login — that identifier is never shown to other users and is not attached to your content.
See the Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
Why can't I reply to messages I receive?
SoliloQ is one-way by design. When someone messages your post, the API doesn't expose who sent it — so we have no way to route a reply back. This is intentional: anonymous incoming, no thread of back-and-forth, no expectation that the recipient owes a response.
I sent a message but the recipient says they didn't get it.
Your message may have been silently dropped by the content filter (a server-side toxicity classifier). The filter targets harassment, threats, doxxing, self-harm directives, and other safety-policy violations. If you believe a clean message was filtered in error, email support with the post you were responding to and a description of what you tried to say (don't include the original toxic-flagged text in the email).
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate. Backups rotate off within 7 days. If you can't access the app, see the account deletion page for an email path.
I forgot my password.
SoliloQ uses Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google — you don't have a password with us. Reset your Google or Apple ID through their respective account-recovery flows; you'll be able to sign back into SoliloQ after.
The app is acting weird / crashing.
Try in order:
- Force-quit the app and reopen it.
- Restart your phone.
- Check that you're on the latest version (App Store / Play Store → updates).
- If still broken, email support with the steps above and what's happening — crash reports come in to us automatically via Firebase Crashlytics, so the more context you give the faster we can match a fix.
Why didn't I get a push notification?
Check your OS notification settings: iOS Settings → Notifications → SoliloQ (or Android equivalent). Make sure they're enabled. Also confirm the app's in-app push toggle is on. If both look right and pushes still aren't arriving, sign out and back in — this re-registers your device token with our server.
I want to report content or another user.
In the app, tap the menu on a post or message and choose Report. Reports are reviewed without ever linking back to you in a user-visible way. The author of a reported message is not told who reported them.
How do I block someone from messaging me?
SoliloQ has no concept of “someone” from your perspective — senders are anonymous to you. You can:
- Block specific tags from your feed via Settings → Blocked Tags
- Disable incoming messages on a specific post by toggling Accept messages off when composing or editing
- Delete the post — takes the entire thread with it
Is there an Android tablet / iPad version?
Not for v1. The app installs on iPad in iPhone-compatibility mode (works, but not native iPad layout). Native iPad/tablet support is on the roadmap.
I have a feature request.
Send it to support@soliloq.app. We read every request, even when we can't promise to ship it.
